About Us

The Foundation, established on November 10, 2022, was created to implement initiatives in line with the Complementary Plan to the National Recovery and Resilience Plan (PNC), with a particular focus on innovative technologies in the health and care sectors. It serves as a hub for the Ministry of Universities and Research, coordinating and managing scientific and technological research initiatives and promoting collaborations between public and private entities, universities, and research institutes.

The Foundation's main activities include:

  • Applied research and technological innovation in the healthcare sector.
  • Technology transfer and the commercialization of research results.
  • University education, advanced education, doctoral programs, and specialization courses in collaboration with the industrial sector.
  • Management of laboratories and research infrastructure.
  • Public engagement and "third mission" activities aimed at promoting scientific literacy. The Foundation also promotes the internationalization of research by participating in national and European projects and calls for proposals.

Three Highlights:

1. Digital Health Technologies

Through the use of advanced technologies such as artificial intelligence algorithms, wearable devices, and sensors, as well as network analysis, the D34Health Foundation is dedicated to developing innovative predictive, diagnostic, and therapeutic models. These tools help improve diagnosis, monitoring, and care for patients, thereby making a tangible impact on clinical practice.

A prime example of the progress of scientific research will be the development of a Digital Twin and a Biological Twin—essential tools for personalized and predictive medicine that will revolutionize patient care.

2. Opportunities for Young Researchers

The D34Health Foundation also serves as a hub for young researchers. We offer a Research & Development (R&D) program that enables participants to contribute to innovation in the healthcare system, with a particular focus on the digital technology transition. This program promotes collaboration between research and industry, fostering technology transfer, high-quality training, and support for high-level scientific projects.

3. A Tangible Impact on Citizens’ Health
The innovations developed by the D34Health Foundation will not only have an immediate impact on patient care but also in the medium and long term. In the short term, we aim to digitize patient care, improving the effectiveness of diagnoses and treatments. In the medium term, we aim to optimize patient care. Finally, in the long term, we are working toward a more efficient use of available resources, helping to standardize personalized therapies while conserving human and technological resources.
